Heitz Bale-Handling Technologies, LLC was formed in April of 2009 to oversee the business of selling the Bale Caddie and Grabber. The LLC was founded by Art Heitz, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne. Art spent more than 40 years in agricultural management and operations. Art Heitz had a vision of a bale accumulator system that had the ability to work with virtually any square baler on the market, utilizing limited moving parts, and built to last a lifetime. His invention, the Bale Caddie, brings that vision to reality by providing an easier and more economical method of accumulating and stacking square bales in the field. With its companion piece, the Grabber, the stacking and moving of square bales is truly a one-man operation. In November, 2009 a US and International Patent was received from the US Patent and Trademark office. Patents and trademarks were obtained through Santangelo Law Offices, PC in Ft. Collins, CO.
The idea of the Bale Caddie was conceived to fill a void in a niche market for hobby farmers and ranchers in today’s horse forage market and in the commercial hay producer market with a fast, one-man operation from field to storage without any manual labor. The Bale Caddie is a product that was made out of necessity after years of farming. It has been field tested since 2006 with many thousands of bales processed and all the necessary adjustments have been made to make the machine the fastest and strongest built with a superior design.
In August, 2006, Art entered the Inventor’s Challenge for the Farm Progress Show in Amana, Iowa and the Bale Caddie was chosen as one of the ten finalists. Then in May, 2008, the Bale Caddie was given 1st place award at the Governor’s Giant Vision Award Contest in Sioux Falls, SD.
